Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't)

QUICK NOTE: I have renamed the story just because its more fitting and you shall see why.

Chapter one;

School was a drag. Everyday, same routine, nothing new, nothing special. The ONLY good thing was seeing all my crazy best friends. Jack, Zack, Rian, Alex, Kara, and Stephanie. We were all one big group that stuck together. I loved them all dearly, but they didn't know the truth about me. I didn't want to tell them, because I was afraid of how they would act around me when they did find out. They wouldn't understand. So I just kept them out of it. Don't get me wrong its not because I didn't trust them. Its just i was afraid this would ruin us. ALL of us.

When lunch came around all of us sat together. Kara, Rian, Zack, and Stephanie on one side. Then Alex's girlfriend (whoever it was that week), Alex, Jack, and Me. We all had the craziest fun at lunch. Stephanie and I mainly talked to Jack, while he made us laugh all lunch. "want to hear DA BEST pick up line ever?" Jack shouted in my ear.

"sure jackass."

"you're hot!"

"Jack, thats not a good pick up line," Stephanie said.

Jack gasped, "thats because your a JERK, Candace is nice, she likes it."

Jack put his arm around me and I shook my head, "I agree with Stephanie."

Jack glared at me and put his hands across his chest, "you guys are both meanies!"

"whatever." Stephanie said.

I bursted into laughter because it sounded like Stephanie was really upset that she was being called mean. Well, mean by Jack. Her secret crush since they meant. But, she would never do anything about. One day I would get them together. They were so cute anyways, especially when they argued with each other. "ALEXX! wheres your GIRLLLFRIEND!!?" Jack yelled.

"we broke up," he said.

We all rolled our eyes, so typical of him and his women. "whos your next victim?" I asked.

We all chuckled. "you," he said glaring at me.

"i'd like to see you try, and then watch you FAIL! OHHH!" I said shouting.

No one joined me, so I just looked around waiting for them to join in. But, they weren't. "WHAT? you think i would fall for ALEX?"

"um, well...." Jack said.

Alex smirked, "your going down Candy!"

"pshh. we'll see."

"want to bet?" Alex said looking at me.

Stephanie kick me, I looked up at her and she was telling me not to make the bet with her eyes. Wow, my friends seriously doubted me. They thought Alex could win me over. I couldn't let myself fall for him, I had seen how his girls act around him. If I did fall for him, I wouldn't be able to keep this secret i've kept for almost one year and a half. I would win this bet. "I'm in!" I said starring everyone down at my table and stopping last at Alex.

I winked, and left the table heading to my locker. I had to leave early today anyways. After I left and got back home from there I drove to band practice. I wasn't feeling my best, but I still went because they would all question me if I didn't show up, and I didn't have a boyfriend at the time so I was out of that excuse. I got to Jacks house on time and let myself in, "i'm here!"

"down here," someone called from the basement.

I walked down the stairs, to see everyone sitting down on the couch. I sat on Jacks lap and smiled, "so what i miss?"

"nothing," Jack said putting his arms around my waist, "we were just about to start."

"cool, can you play hit the lights?"

"Ask alex."

I looked over at alex and he smiled, "can you play hit the lights?"

"sure... if you give me a kiss." Alex said smirking over at me.

I shook my head, "nope."

"is that because you think you'd start to like me cause im such a good kisser."

"No, only because your JUST my friend."

"you kiss Jack."

"Only jokingly."

"isn't this JUST a joke?" he asked.

"yeah.." I said confused.

Alex leaned closer, "you want me to play hit the lights? you only have to kiss me."

Everyone was starring at me, waiting for my answer. Why did everyone think I was so weak? Did they all think I liked him? Did THEY know something i didn't. I mean I will admit, he's attractive and when we first met I thought he was insanely sweet, but then I really got to know him. I realised he just broke girls hearts, and thats not what I wanted. So I WAS NOT giving in, not matter what they thought I would not. I leaned closer to him making our lips centimeters apart. That little sucker froze right up, and when I looked into his eyes I smirked because I realised I had one this round. I whispered to him, "never."

I got up off Jacks lap and grabbed Jacks hand, "play play play!"

Jack smiled and started dancing with me and soon everyone was dancing, until Alex started grinding on me. Then I sat on the couch and Stephanie followed. Finally BAND PRACTICE started.

I loved that song just because it made you feel so high when you felt it. Not high like smoking, just like your flying. Stephanie and I clapped cheering and the boys laughed as they moved onto the next song. After a few songs they had written they moved onto covers and after an hour or two band practice was over. Jack came over and picked me up from the couch and started sinning us. "JACKJELLYFISH PUT ME DOWN!!!" I pouted out my lip.

Jack set me down and smiled his toothy smile and I slapped his huge forehead, "Jackoff."

Jack gasped speaking with a lisp, "meanthie youth all hath meth."

Stephanie giggled and I shook my head at her as I kissed Jacks forehead, "I'm sorry, I gotta go though."

Jack hugged my leg, "NOOO!"

I tried to move it, "jacky I got to go."

"fine I'll just hang with stephanie," Jack said getting up and going to the couch and they immediately started talking.

I giggled at how cute they were and walked over to the other guys, "bye guys, I got to go."

"no, stay," Rian said hugging me. 

I hugged him back, "i'll see you at school tomorrow."

"okay," he said letting go.

Zack and I hugged and I stuck my tongue out at Alex making my way up the stairs and to my car. I saw the door open and Alex coming and maybe I wanted to talk to him but one look at the clock and I knew I had to go then. I quickly pulled out of the driveway and made my way to home where dad was leaving Alex watching my car speed out of sight.
